Your family’s information

Merit Mouse is a private, parent-managed chore and reward service at MeritMouse.com, operated by Lead Better, LLC. For privacy questions, access requests, or deletion requests, email support@meritmouse.com.
What parents provide
Your account uses your first name, email address, a securely hashed password, family name, time zone, and notification preferences. The optional starter questions save your goals, preferred chore schedule, and reward preferences so we can suggest a starting point. Stripe handles payment details; Merit Mouse stores billing customer and subscription references, status, and access dates, rather than your full card number.
What is in a kid profile
A parent creates each profile using a first name or nickname, an avatar or optional photo, and a private PIN. Family records include assigned chores, completion status, optional chore notes, approved points, goals, and reward history. We do not ask children for an email address, phone number, birthday, home address, or precise location. Children cannot create independent accounts, message strangers, or publish their profiles.
How this information is used
We use account and family information to provide your dashboard, protect access, track chores and rewards, process subscriptions, and send account or requested family updates to the parent. The service does not include targeted advertising or public family profiles. We do not sell family information or use it to target advertising.
Who helps run the service
Cloudflare hosts the app, database, and private uploaded images, and provides bot protection. Resend delivers transactional email. Stripe processes payments and subscriptions. These providers process the information needed to perform those services. Hosting and service-provider processing may occur in the United States and other locations where those providers operate.
Cookies and browser storage
An essential session cookie keeps you signed in. Browser storage saves an unfinished starter plan and sample-family edits on that device. Your starter-plan draft is cleared after successful registration. Cloudflare’s security services may process technical information such as IP addresses and browser signals to prevent abuse. We do not use advertising cookies.
Access and security
Parents manage the family space. Kid mode limits access to the selected child’s chores and goals; returning to parent space requires the parent password. Photos use authenticated access and are not public. Passwords and PINs are stored as salted hashes. No online service can promise perfect security; contact us if you notice unexpected account activity.
Your choices and family records
You can review family records in the dashboard, edit profile information, and change optional email preferences in Settings. Essential account, security, and billing emails still apply. A parent can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their family’s information, or ask to stop further collection from a kid profile, by emailing support@meritmouse.com from the account email address. We may ask you to verify account ownership before acting.
Retention
Family records are kept to provide the active account and its chore and reward history. If you request account deletion, we remove or de-identify the family information used by the app, subject to records that must be retained for legal obligations, billing, disputes, or security. Backup copies may remain until their retention cycle expires. Canceling billing alone does not delete your family records; contact support if you also want them removed.
The sample family
The demo uses fictional names and activity. Your sample edits stay in this browser rather than an account. Reset demo replaces them, and clearing this site’s browser data removes them. Please use invented information in the demo.

We will update this page when our practices change and provide notice of material changes affecting your family’s information.
